About us
Bulgarian Association of Consulting Engineers and Architects – BACEA was founded in October 1999 and is the only organization in Bulgaria to bring together the companies exercising construction supervision and consultant activity.
The public activity of the Association, as well as the fact that it is very often the initiator of joint standpoints on issues important for the colleagues from this field, makes the Association a very valuable factor in the public space, along with other professional organizations in the design and construction area.
From September 2000 BACEA is the only full member and representative for Bulgaria of the International Federation of Consulting Engineers / FIDIC and also from May 2001, a full member of the European Federation of Consulting Association - EFCA. BACEA participates actively in the international initiatives of both organizations. Foreign partners lend theirs strong support for the establishment of the BACEA activities, as well as for the extension of BACEA members’ qualification.
In this regards, BACEA organized different training courses on FIDIC contracts, clarifying the specific requirements and their application in practice. The Association holds the official rights for translation and distribution of the contractual terms of FIDIC used by world and European financial institutions (EU, World Bank, European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, European Investment Bank, etc.) These terms are also used in the preparation of tendering documents for major projects, some of which take place in Bulgaria.
For its short existence, BACEA managed to establish itself in the public space as an organization defending the rights of the consultants and lobbing for its members interests before the legislative body, state and municipal institutions.
BACEA is guided by a Board of 11 Directors, Supervision body of 3 members and a President.
The President of BACEA is Miroslav Yordanov, Dipl.eng., Manager of the company Bombov Consult EOOD, Varna.
